Sorry if this is sounds a bit strange.

Was just wondering if anyone from RoG from Stromm (EQ) or DoA from Proudmoore is still around. It's been years since I played but just felt nostalgic for some of the silly times we had and was wondering how everyone was going. So if Brazzin, grumpy dorf Xarconi,  Glembidor (The Quon's twin), Mudblade, Clinicus, Thwoompa, Shadaki, Eple, Xarine, Karguo, Bikamar, Tunk, Cynwulf, Davros, Saedani, Umpf, Chrystopher, Ferrum, Rahmen, Aegolas, Nouveau, Berekorh, Charsiu,  BG /sigh I'm sure I've forgotten tons of you and apologies for bad spelling - are out there say hi.

I know some of those names - all the old schoolers have now moved on...
I have faced it, a life wasted. I'm never going back again. Oh I escaped it, a life wasted. I'm never going back again. HAVEN'T tasted, a life wasted. I'm never going back again. oh i erased it, a life wasted. I'm never going back again.

omg I didn't forget you Macka - prolly just didn't have a photo of my humping your corpse to remind me!!! Remiss of me !

Unfortunately due to RL stuff (marriage, baby, work, living in the UK for a bit) EQ/wow finished for me years ago - was just feeling nostalgic last night for the crazy times we had in EQ - some really good times there so figured that maybe someone from those times was still playing :-) and I was right ! But life is good - just not enough time to indulge my gaming vice !

Great to hear from you Macka and hope you are carrying on the proud tradition of being a pink terror to all your guildies.

Cheers,

Dakar

Hey Dakar! I hear you about not having enough time for these games anymore. If I could afford it timewise I'd be back in a flash in one form or another. I still play a lot of games (PC, 360, Wii, DS) but they all have one important feature: a pause button :P

If you ever feel nostalgic for EQ1 check out Shards of Dalaya. It's a really well done free EQ1 emu. I got a couple of characters up to 20 a little while back. It's pretty lonely though. These games aren't much chop without the people to chat to.

Clinicus is married now and has to put 25c(quarters shipped in from the USA ...)  coins into a special unit his misses put on his computer to stop him from over doing his gaming addictions
If only it weren't true :(

Thwoompa is playing EQ2 and writing Norrath based "Gnomosexual" fanfiction. I'm not kidding. Read at your own risk http://www.eq2flames.com/unrest/29165-golden-dong-what-fanfic-m15-content.html

Eple is going back to Uni in Wagga. Pretty sure he's still carrying on the tradition of playing every single MMO that comes out for a few weeks.

Karguo is playing Age of Conan I believe.

Hi Clin - great to hear from you and thanks for the info on some others - Thwoompa's prose would indeed be disturbing if you haven't experienced it first hand ! Glad to see he hasn't changed. I may indeed check out the EQ emu - if only just to run around some old favorite zones. Thanks for the link. I love the idea of the gaming piggy-bank - not ! And of course, those quaters will now be even more expensive with the aussie dollar and all plumeting.

Take care Clin,

Dakar

Ranger checking in ;D

I am still lurking around in this forum. My WOW time was officially over when my little boy popped out from my wify's tummy last may. Since then, most of my time is work, back home to play with kid. my gaming now is resrticted to those with a "pause" button too =)

Karguo was playing AoC with a singapore guild, think she's trying out Warhammeronline now.

Think the other blue ranja "Aeadiyen" is still in Oceania, but he's either getting married soon or already did ha! ha!

Wonder what happen to Forst and Aervin...

Anyone care for some Lodi Turtle soup .......

Dakar! I still remember your epic quest fight =)

OMG! Pink Dorf sighting!

Heya Dakar!

Karguo here :) I'm now playing Warhammer Online with a Singapore guild, that has a few peeps from Australia. Even been made an officer there too :o

AoC was a disappointment, endgame wise. Levels 1 to 40 were terrific then, I think something happened with the devs there... oh yeah, they forgot to put enough quests in for those above level 40 not to make it a grindfest, aka EQ, heh. Still remember our grinding groups in PoV, BoT, etc... /shudder.

So, almost as a guild, we all decided to quit AoC and start again in Warhammer... so far it's been good.

I'm currently a RN, studying for my nursing degree part-time at night and working in the, it's official, the busiest Emergency Dept in Singapore. Life is crazy, I find that I need the de-stresser that is an online game where I can chat and at certain times, vent with people. I've tried consoles after I quit WoW cause of time constraints, got myself a PS3 and a Wii but... it's just not the same. Even played with the idea of going back to WoW but just decided that a clean slate is needed.

My email is still karenk@starhub.net.sg , so all you ex-RoGers out there, don't be a stranger now ;) And those reading who are playing Warhammer, I'm on Ironclaw server, character name is Alexina.

Thanks, Aego for the heads up on this thread  ;D

Hiya Karg and Aegolas ! Great to hear from you both. Aegolas, your story sounds like my life exactly, grats on the bub - it's fantastic. Just macro /afk and call it pause ! Mages always afk in raids - hell they spend the whole raid afk with some macro cast thingy ! - we should all be able to do it ! Here's a pic of the epic fight !

Karguo - so happy to hear you are well and doing your degree. I'm sure you'll find it a very enjoyable and worthwhile career. Did any other RoG'ers make it to Warhammer ? I haven't kept up with the mmorpg scene, but hopefully warhammer gives you different challenges rather than just being a different angle on WoW. Whilst EQ was a grindfest as you say, it was the silly conversations and carry on that made it fun.

And just one more thing you two ! You didn't really think that I would lose the evidence did you !!!

The little pink stabby man is bring them out of the wood work.

Hey Aego, Clin, Kargs and Dakar. Another green speedhump poking his head around - Gulwin -, well lurking actually :P.

Karg's ive got to agree with you on AoC. mid to end game just wasnt there, raided a bit but it was well boring, hope Warhammer provides a real alternative although i think ive lost all hope for MMOs  :'(

Might catch you old OCers online when Wotlk is released if i get motivated.

Acid and Sarenot are still playing EQ (in Terror Australis on The Rathe now), only other old RoG'ers there are Zylo, Necrillia and Menssia (I won't count myself since I wasn't in RoG that long :P), oh and Iuzen is tagged in the guild too even though he only came back for the free account time recently hehe.

Ahem... heh... from Oct till today, well, I've sorta stopped playing WAR and am back playing WoW... yeah, lol. I can't believe it myself. WoW is still more fun for people who prefer PvE.

Created a Death Knight and am now level 72 and loving every minute of it, heh. Just don't have enough time to play nowadays... so tired after work most of the days, I fall asleep on my keyboard more often than not, lol.

Llano has enough and threw his pc away :P - I think Roy has it now.
Dhark kinda dissapeared off the map again.

fuckers.

Good to see some of these names flashing about. Some = everyone except Thwoompa. Haven't spoken to him in a couple of years and then I get a cross server tell about different coloured scrotums. Great to know you're still alive Ben =p

I've been back into EQ for a few months and I'm loving it. Eple is 70, Erad is 75, Phystik 66, Icktyth 74. One of the original "Dharks" is playing with me and we're about to app with Terror Australis. It took me a few days to get over the intensity of being in norrath and not seeing any RoG... I even stopped by PoK and stared at "Clin's Tree" for a while. We're on Fennin Ro for the time being so if anyone's floating about swing me a tell :)

Ep.
