Damn, Rogean says it will be down for a week or two. This isn't the first time it's had a DDoS attack.

I resubbed to WoW last week. That MMO itch needs scratching again.

Yeah, the hardest part about coming back to a years old toon is figuring out what all this shit in my bags is for, and whether any of it is worth anything anymore. Most of it isn't, but some still is surprisingly.

Rocking T2 @ L60?  You should leave him there for prosperity and start a new toon :)

I actually did start a fresh priest, more because I was intimidated by having to figure out what all my stuff was for than keeping my toon for posterity. I gave that idea up when I realised how many times I'd done the old content and how long it was going to take. Definitely keeping the old gear for memories sake though. Except for the T2 Mage hat I had for some reason. No idea why I ended up with that.

It's really quick to level now if you still go that way, they boosted the XP gains and if you rope someone in with refer-a-friend you can level even faster.  Something like QuestHelper will let you autopilot your way to 68 so you can hit Northrend

Drop a tell to Banzo if you need a cleric anytime, he’s lvl 18 now.

I am starting to get the EQ crack again...old time fun is good fun.

I hit 68 last night, so I'll probably stick with Clin for now. I didn't realise they boosted the XP though. I guess between that and RAF another 60 would be pretty easy to get.

Casi (or aego or anyone else) if you're reading, come play on EZ server. http://ezserveronline.com . I'm Klynn/Wyll,  Phys is Jhaele/Tiko, Xans is Rarrgh/Xans, Dhark is Dharke/something I forget. Super fast progression and a lot of fun custom quests and gear.

Play whatever you feel like playing. 1-70 is so fast that it doesn't matter if you decide you want to try another class. There is a buffbot in the two main hubs that buff you with any buff you'd ever want when you hail them, so don't pick a class based purely on buffs (although shaman get a clicky 10k hp buff on their Epic 3.0, and druids get an amazing regen). You can also buy haste potions and HoT potions for fairly cheap. Slightly upgraded Epic 1.0s can be purchased for free from a vendor and used at level 1, so melee classes are fairly popular (except pally. don't play a pally). Pet classes are pretty powerful too.

Multi boxing is fairly common. The most progressed guild on the server is actually just two guys. Most of the stuff I've done has been with one or two other guys, all of us with a two characters. I'm playing a ranger and cleric. If I had to solo I'd throw a beastlord into the mix, but I'm grouped most nights so I haven't levelled the third much. Three boxing is fiddly anyway.

I played a rogue on EZ server during the P1999 downtime. XP was fast , and rogue can duel wield 2 epic daggers at lvl 1. I farmed some armor from Mistmoore and oasis.

Does the XP slow down at higher lvl? Good thing abt EQ zerver is that there’s no corpse run.

I kind of like P1999, more challenging, my cleric is 27 now. Think i will stick it there and drop by EQ server on and off.

Have fun all,.

How are you finding Project 1999? Where did you go to level after 20?

While you're levelling, death is a free ride back to the buff bot :)

The XP does slow down, but only relatively speaking. After getting to 50 pretty quickly, 50-60 seems slow by comparison. It's still quick though. If you don't get distracted by loot and quests you can do it in a few hours. First time around it takes longer because of all the cool loot you're seeing.

There is a quest in the game where you can level a ring from 1 to 100, where the final ring has 10k hp/mana and a clicky 9k rune among other crazy things. To get one level of the ring you get delevelled back to 1 by an NPC and have to level up again to 70. I've heard of people doing 1-70 in 12 minutes by using a bard to apply some crazy DS song and then dropping the group. You can only do this quest once a day now.

Progression is mostly around gear farming and making the next tier of content require a certain gear level to get past. Levelling is just the beginning, so they might as well get you to 70 and in Time gear in a week or less. Dhark Xans and I finally killed the last Epic 1.5 boss last night after a number of aborted attempts over the week. It still took our seven characters a good 20 minutes to kill, including a couple of mid fight rezzes. We had killed it before, but we had Phystik along with his Epic 3.0 mage pet which basically soloed it in half the time.

I have no idea how long it will take to hit the wall of things to do, but at the moment it's a lot of fun.

I spent lvl 18 to 25, mostly in unrest or mistmoore. Pretty easy to get grped as a healer.

Will be spending 26 onward till 30+ maybe in highpass goblin room, or mistmoore graveyard grp. Heard sol A and Splitpaw pretty good too. Lvled 26 and 27 in highpass goblin rm , surprised that the area is mostly empty, guess people are too lazy to make the run.  I like highpass, with vendor to sell and banker there. And we can always drop by riverval to grab new spell when we lvled

Have only visit Lower guk once, nice zone, but I hate the run-in as i ruined my live froggy faction lvling on them once. No invisible on cleric sucks, cloudy potion cost 10pp a pop...

Really miss EQ, i like the socializing during grp much more than WOW, more time to talk shit etc during grping, WOW grping killing is too fast..

Been spending weekend lvling , while wife and kids permits.. heh heh

My Cleric is lvl 50 now in P1999 and joined one of the top 2 guild, Dark Ascension, i am geared in mostly POhate gears now . I was in Mostly Harmless before they merged with DA to form a 24 hr raiding guild, We have been sharing the raid mob like naggy, vox, Ct, dracolite, Maestro and Innoruuk.

enjoying my time here as it let me try out the old classic raid boss, pre-pop.

Make start playing a character in EZ server during my off-raid night.

He was playing on EZ server while I was on there. I haven't played on there for a while though, so I'm not sure if he still is. Casi, are you in touch with him on there? If not, I might logon and bug him.

who the.... what the... someone talking about me ?

hey hey everyone, havent been here for ages, good to see OC still going strong :)

Doubtfull ill get back onto wow again in the foreseeable future, im sort of hoooked on EQ again.

So, yeah I'm playing EQ again on the EZ server, i love it there, best thing, its FREE !!...
I have a 10 box team that I play, did i mention it was free, 10 accounts, no pay for none. warrior, cleric, cleric, ranger, ranger, necro, mage, shaman, druid, paladin.  so as Aead said, do /who dhark all and you'll find me if I'm on.
Makes life easier when your raid leader ninjas afk or passes out ... or something... if the whole raid is one person :)
Phystik is still there too and Casimere/aramere/berekoth (whoever you know him as). We're all in a nice little guild with some cool peeps and a crazy green frog.  Would be awesome if anyone else playing EZ is around, to hear from you.
for those that have seen the EZ server and understand the item system in place there, my warrior has RoA 100, all toons epic 3.0'd, warrior just got full t1 on the weekend, loving this server :) (1 lvl of RoA is lvling your toon from 1-70, then hand in the ring and get another rank, and get deleveled to 1 again. I did that 102 times on my warrior)

and readin through this post, hey to all you old RoG'ers.
funny how ya dont forget all those people from years ago that you never really met hey

Dhark
